1% for Good Charitable Foundation: NAMI Santa Cruz County
Sereno 1% For Good Charitable Foundation believes in supporting those with mental illness. We are honored to support NAMISCC (National Alliance on Mental Illness for Santa Cruz County).
NAMISCC serves people struggling with mental health conditions and their loved ones in Santa Cruz County. They work to shape a world where people affected by mental illness are accepted and live fulfilling lives in a supportive community. This grant will help to support their Youth and Family Program, which serves over 10,000 youth, family, and adults who work with youth in schools annually.
“We bring hope, compassionate support, and practical services to those with mental illness and the people who love them. NAMISCC programs move people from fear and isolation to recovery and well-being.”
Per their application, “We advocate for better mental health resources, and for the reduction of fear and stigma surrounding mental illness so that mental illness is seen as a medical condition and people utilize the appropriate resources. NAMISCC is committed to equity; we open doors to address mental illness through culturally competent services offered in Spanish and English. We believe that early intervention is critical to prevent serious mental illness, thus we emphasize serving youth and parents in addition to adults.”
