If you love shopping as much as I do, here is your opportunity to start shopping for families in need in our community! Walnut Avenue Family and Women’s Center, recipient of our Christie’s Sereno Community Impact Grant in 2021, has kicked off their Adopt-a-Family and Turkey Drive campaigns.
Walnut Avenue Adopt-a-Family campaign is a way to connect Santa Cruz County community members to local families in need. The stress of the holiday season can be a lot even for folks who aren’t also participating in our programs. Adopt-a-Family allows donors to play “Santa” for participants whose families do gift-giving during this time of year: a wish list of toys, clothes, and household necessities is provided, and “Santas” are encouraged to go all out! At Breszny Associates we have had so much fun shopping for the families that we have adopted over the past several years.

Walnut Avenue Family & Women’s Center is dedicated to improving the quality of life for women, children, and families in Santa Cruz County. Many of the families participating in Walnut Avenue programs are from under-served populations due to poverty, early pregnancy, homelessness, and/or domestic violence.
Sereno 1% For Good Charitable Foundation Santa Cruz awards grants to local organizations actively making a positive difference in our communities. Since 2012, Sereno 1% For Good Charitable Foundation has donated over $5,000,000.
